Windows Server refers to any type of server instance that is installed, operated and managed by any of the Windows Server family of operating systems.

Windows Server System is an integrated set of server software from Microsoft. It forms the infrastructure for operating the back end of an information technology system. Microsoft divides its server offerings into four major categories: “Security”, “IT Operations”, “Applications”, and “Collaboration”.
